Negotiations training for women researchers: Leading your career though effective negotiations

Short description

Understanding your own career priorities and work-life interests is an important precursor to effectively navigating your career today. Being ready to apply negotiation skills effectively during your career journey is an important competence in career self-management. Participants will learn about the essentials of effective negotiations and experience how to apply negotiation skills to support leadership of your own career. This is a highly interactive workshop, designed for the Hertie School, delivered via Zoom.

How does this course work?

This learning programme is designed as a two-day online workshop in which students will be presented with key learning concepts in a brief mini-lecture format and will participate in highly-interactive case-based negotiation exercises in which they can then apply their learning. Participants will begin the workshop with a reflection exercise focusing on their own career development priorities. Instructors will facilitate the case simulation exercises and guide the plenary debrief to capture key insights from the learning exercises. A wrap-up session at the end of the two-day workshop will support students in consolidating their learning and planning forward for continued development of their negotiations knowledge and practice.
