Schools agree to promote student and staff exchange and strengthen research collaboration.
The Hertie School has signed an agreement of friendship and cooperation with the O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) in Sonipat, India, for an initial period of five years. The agreement paves the way for collaboration and exchange between master’s students, staff, faculty members and researchers from both institutions.
Further possibilities for students and researchers
“India has always been one of the core cooperation regions for the Hertie School. This agreement opens the door for myriad possibilities to expand our academic exchange network, promote international collaboration and innovation with scholars from top universities,” says Hertie School President Cornelia Woll. “We are excited for the new things to come in teaching and research.”
Axel Baisch, Managing Director of the Hertie School adds: “This is a major step to further our Indo-German engagement and exchange with our partners in India. We are proud to extend our ties to O.P. Jindal Global University, one of the top international players in academics and research.”
Founded in 2009, the O.P. Jindal Global University is a private non-profit, research-focused institution with more than 9,000 students and 1,000 staff members across 12 schools, including the Jindal Global Law School and the Jindal School of Government and Public Policy, with which the Hertie School aims to collaborate closely. JGU’s mission is to promote a global perspective and foster “excellence in teaching, research, community service, and capacity building and nurturing socially responsible leaders through an eclectic and sustainable approach serving the local and regional communities.”
Hertie School strengthens Indo-German cooperation
The agreement with JGU is the latest initiative in the Hertie School’s efforts to promote Indo-German cooperation. In 2021, the Hertie School launched its partnership with the TATA Institute of Social Sciences for academic exchange and research. In October 2022, the school hosted its first Future of Healthcare conference in New Delhi and Bengaluru. And each year, prospective master’s students of public policy, international affairs, data science and public administration can apply to scholarships offered in partnership with the Indo-German Young Leaders Forum and Teach for India.
