Event highlight: How can governments bridge the gap between GovTech initiatives and practical policy implementation?

In collaboration with GovStack, Possible, and Tabiya (University of Oxford), the Centre for Digital Governance hosted a public event at the Hertie School focusing on GovTech in international collaboration.

After Prof. Dr. Gerhard Hammerschmid introduced the need for better cooperation between government, civil society, and private GovTech firms, Yolanda Martínez offered us a practical and exclusive vision on productivity challenges and the importance of sharing best practices when negotiating with key actors such as the Mexican government.

In the panel discussion with Andrea Donath, Benny Bennet Jürgens, Yolanda Martínez, Christian Meyer, and David Steinacker, we discussed the main challenges and opportunities of GovTech in enhancing government operations and digital transformation.

Partnerships, interoperability, and flexibility were mentioned as crucial factors in addressing the challenges of modern governance, particularly in the context of increased international cooperation.

The Q&A and networking session allowed for a fruitful exchange on the future theoretical and practical opportunities of GovTech worldwide.
