Carlotta Mezger is a PhD researcher at the Hertie School. With a Bachelor's degree in North American Studies and Philosophy from Freie Universität Berlin, and a Master's degree in Religion in Peace and Conflict from Uppsala Universitet, she brings a diverse academic background. Carlotta's international exposure includes a year of studying at UC Santa Cruz, California. In addition to her academic pursuits, she has gained six years of valuable experience working at the German representation of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Her current research focuses on the intersection of universal human rights and national politics, particularly examining the concept of national identity in post-migrant societies.
