Caroline Assad holds a Bachelor and a Master of Arts in Educational Sciences from Freie Universität Berlin. At the Hertie School, she studied in the Executive MPA programme, focusing on organisational change and innovation as well as cultural policy. At the German Centre for Integration and Migration Research (DeZIM), she is working on the study "Diversity in Germany’s External Cultural and Educational Policy". Prior to that, she worked in the evaluation of local and international educational and cultural programmes. She was Executive Manager of the civil society organisation WIR MACHEN DAS, which works at the intersection of culture, literature and the discourse on migration. She was a Fellow at both Young DGAP (German Council on Foreign Relations) as well as More in Common Germany.
