In this project course, we will evaluate the projects from four civil society organisations. The students will work in groups and each group will design and, if the project schedule of the partner allows, implement an evaluation throughout the course of the semester. Inputs by the instructor on evaluation objectives, evaluation design, instruments and measurement, as well as reporting, will accompany the activities. We will use the novel monitoring and evaluation software for NGOs called TolaData to organise the evaluations. The class will give students an overview of what is possible when evaluating social programmes. The evaluations that students implement themselves, however, will be very practical and catered to the needs of the partners.
This course is for 1st year MPP students only.
