Hertie School's PhD in Governance to start in the Fall

The Hertie School‘s new PhD in Governance is starting in September 2012. 

Berlin, 6 March 2012 - The Hertie School‘s new PhD in Governance is starting in September 2012. Applications for this structured doctoral programme with a focus on governance and public policy in a globalising world will be accepted between 15 March and 15 April 2012. A number of scholarships are available for the programme. 

Hertie School Professor Markus Jachtenfuchs is the Director of the PhD in Governance, which offers rigorous academic training in research design and familiarises PhD candidates with cutting-edge theories, methods, and concepts in the field of governance.  PhD students will be equipped with the tools to analyse policy problems in different domestic and international contexts. The programme is aimed at applicants with a strong background in economics, political science, law, public administration or management studies and related fields.

The programme is closely associated with the Hertie School’s Research Clusters and offers a stimulating academic environment for candidates who are interested in exploring modern governance in an interdisciplinary context. The Research Clusters provide the academic infrastructure to advance research in Political Economy, Global Governance & Democratic Institutions, and Organization, Management & Leadership and each PhD candidate will be linked to one of the Clusters.
