Award for international encyclopaedia with Hertie School authors

International Encyclopedia of the Social and Behavioral Sciences receives American Publishers Award for reference work.

The American Publishers Award for Excellence in Reference Works went to the International Encyclopedia of the Social and Behavioral Sciences. Seven Hertie School professors have contributed to the mega project.

President Helmut K. Anheier and Professor of Public Policy Anke Hassel acted as two of the 71 section editors. Helmut Anheier was responsible for the section on Institutions and Infrastructure of Social and Behavioral Studies and Anke Hassel for the section on Public Policy. Additionally, professors Klaus Hurrelmann, Alina Mungiu-Pippidi, Inge Kaul, Andrea Römmele and Michaela Kreyenfeld wrote articles for the encyclopedia. Several other members of the Hertie School community contributed too.

With 23,185 pages, this second edition offers comprehensive insight into all fields of social and behavioural sciences. 3,900 articles provide foundational and interdisciplinary knowledge on topics ranging from Actor-Network Theory to Zooarcheology.
