Sustainability Committee Co-director Christian Flachsland explains initiatives to make campus more environmentally friendly.
In 2019, when the Hertie School announced its plans to launch the Centre for Sustainability, students called for an action plan. Thus, the university's Sustainable Campus Initiative was born. The Sustainability Committee, co-led by Centre for Sustainability Director and Professor of Sustainability Christian Flachsland and Managing Director Axel Baisch, comprises representatives from different units at the Hertie School, who monitor, steer and implement measures to make the Hertie School campus more environmentally friendly and reduce its carbon footprint.
