Le Maire to head up France’s Ministry for the Economy and Finance.
Hertie School Board Member Bruno Le Maire will head the French Ministry for the Economy and Finance in President Emmanuel Macron’s new government.
Le Maire joined the Hertie School Board of Trustees in September 2013. A member of the Republicains party, he has served in the French Parliament since 2007. He was Minister of Agriculture, Food, Fishing, Rural Affairs and Territory settlement from 2009 until 2012 under President Nicolas Sarkozy. Prior to that, he was Secretary of State in charge of European Affairs.
Le Maire is a graduate of École Nationale d’Administration, École Normale Supérieure.
Last year, he spoke at the Hertie School on Europe, France and their shared future.
