German Science Council recommends Hertie School for the right to award doctorates

Berlin Public Policy School receives academic accolade.

Berlin, 14 November 2011 – The Hertie School has been recommended for the right to award doctorates in addition to its continued accreditation as a university. The German Science Council arrived at this decision after a year-long accreditation process. Based on the Hertie School’s complete fulfillment of all outlined requirements the Council has recommended that the Berlin Senate confer the right to award doctorates on the School. The School’s accreditation as university was also extended for another five years. The Hertie School is one of only two private universities in Germany to have successfully completed the Science Council’s accreditation process to award doctorates. [more]
