Jean Pisani-Ferry joins Hertie School faculty

The Hertie School welcomes Professor Jean Pisani-Ferry as a member of the adjunct faculty.

He joins the school's faculty starting with the academic year 2013/2014. Pisani-Ferry is currently serving as Commissioner-General for Policy Planning, reporting to the French Prime Minister. Prior to this appointment, he contributed to founding the Brussels-based economic think tank Bruegel in 2005, and served as its Director. Pisani-Ferry previously served as Executive President of the French Council of Economic Analysis, as Senior Economic Adviser to the French Minister of Finance, as Director of CEPII, the French institute for international economics, and as Economic Adviser with the European Commission. He taught at Université Paris-Dauphine, Ecole Polytechnique and the Université libre de Bruxelles. His publications include numerous books and articles on economic policy. He has also been an active contributor to public debates with regular columns in the French and international press.
