Integrating and educating: Programme for refugee students to continue

25 participants took part in courses on German language, politics and society, with more seminars to come in 2016.

Since October the Hertie School has been offering a special programme for refugees. Some 25 participants mainly from Syria took part in a German course, a seminar on German politics and society and social activities together with Hertie School students. They received their certificates on 17 December.

Congratulations to all of them and many thanks to staff, faculty, researchers, students and – not least – our fabulous German teacher Ellen Töpfer for making the programme possible!

The programme will continue in January 2016 with a German conversation course and seminars on topics selected by the participants themselves.

There will also be a number of public lectures and events on different aspects of refugee and migration policy, starting off with a discussion on the needs of children from a migrant background on 28 January.
