Hertie School receives alumni engagement award for second year in row

The Premium D-A-CH 2021 award recognises excellence in building community.

For the second year in a row, the Hertie School has won the annual Premium D-A-CH award, which recognises exceptional higher education alumni engagement in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The award is given by alumni-clubs.net e.V., which has over 250 member institutions. St. Gallen University and the Leuphana University Lüneburg also shared this year’s award.

The focus for this year’s prize was “Digitally re-thinking alumni management”. The Hertie School was recognised for its wide-ranging digital approach that includes an app, a digitally-organised Alumni November, ongoing digital events as well as effective use of social media to connect with alumni, such as Instagram live streams.

The prize was officially awarded at an online ceremony on 6 May, and it was accepted by Hertie School Alumni Affairs Manager Jovana Panić.

“The global pandemic has shown us how important it is to stay connected with each other particularly in times of crises,” Panic said. “Different digital tools, our alumni app included, have made that possible, and we are happy that has also been recognised with this award. Based on the successes we’ve seen, digital events and experiences will remain a big part of how we nurture our alumni community.”

The Hertie School alumni app is available for download now and serves to connect alumni to one another through events, networking and updates about our community.
