The recipients of the Commerzbank Foundation Scholarships are Mariam Farid from Pakistan and Daniel Jemberu Robele from Ethiopia, both members of the MPP Class of 2015.
The Commerzbank Foundation has pledged to fund two full scholarships per Academic Year for exceptionally qualified and promising MPP applicants from the Global South. Anna Sophie Herken, Hertie School Managing Director, thanked the Commerzbank Foundation for their support: “Business and Civil Society organisations that fund scholarships ensure that excellent applicants, from Germany and abroad, are not hindered by financial constraints. We are immensely grateful to all partners who are already on board and continue to actively work towards the expansion of this network.”
In addition to the Commerzbank Foundation, Deutsche Bank, McKinsey & Company, Stiftung ökonomischer Fortschritt and the Berlin philanthropist Dieter Rosenkranz, also support Master and Doctoral students at the Hertie School through scholarships. The Hertie Foundation has also funded a large number of stipends since the School’s establishment. The Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes also makes a notable contribution to the Hertie School’s Scholarship Portfolio, as well as the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) through its Public Policy and Good Governance (PPGG) programme.
