Hertie Alumna Susanne Kühn Takes Helm at Transparency Germany

Susanne Kühn (EMPA 2018), assumed the role of Executive Director at Transparency International Deutschland eV, effective April 15.

Transparency International Deutschland e.V (TI Germany) welcomed Susanne Kühn (EMPA 2018) as its new Executive Director, effective 15 April 2024. Kühn, a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in the fight against corruption, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this critical role. 

Kühn currently teaches on the topic of Ethics, Integrity and Anti-corruption at the University of Potsdam and at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR). She has previously worked in renowned organisations such as the United Nations, the OECD, the International Rescue Committee and The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

Expressing her enthusiasm for this new challenge, Kühn states, “I am very pleased to be able to contribute in my new role to expanding strategic alliances in the fight against corruption in the spirit of Transparency's coalition spirit. Only together with actors in all sectors of society can we effectively curb abuse of power. In addition, I would like to further strengthen the organizational and financial foundations so that the diverse work of the specialist experts can have as much impact as possible.”

Susanne's impressive academic background includes not only the Hertie School's Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA) program but also a postgraduate program from the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) and the prestigious Advanced Management and Leadership Program at Oxford University's Saïd Business School.
