Aside from the EMPM-Master's Programme, selected seminars of the EMPM are also open to professionals who wish to extend their public management competence. By attending a series of four seminars, participants can also obtain a certificate that allows for a real specialisation.

Participants come from all types of organisations - from national ministries to regional or local administrations, European institutions or international organisations, consultancies, or NGOs. Lawyers, economists, and social and natural scientists gain insight into other disciplines. The diversity of backgrounds offers participants the unique chance of exchanging experience and jointly working towards innovative improvements in their fields of work.

One of the seminars' guiding principles is to reflect upon current challenges and best-practices of public management, while ensuring the highest academic quality. Participants profit from the experience of an international team of lecturers from academia, the public sector, and the business world. They are introduced to concepts and tools and discuss how to apply them to their specific work context.

All seminars take place in the centre of Berlin and are held in English. They are offered in a compact two- to four-day format, making it easy to integrate them into daily work, also for professionals from outside of Berlin or even from abroad.

In addition, we offer a practical 4-day Workshop in Brussels, which is suited to professionals dealing with EU institutions.

Professionals can choose to

■ enrol in selected Open Seminars (three or four days each)

or

■ acquire a Public Management Certificate by participating in three seminars and a skills course
(11 days in total)

or

■ participate in a 4-day Workshop in Brussels.
