Yuqing Yang is a research associate working on the Soft Power project funded by the German Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations. She holds a Master’s degree in Global History from Free University and Humboldt University Berlin and a Bachelor’s degree in History from University of California, Berkeley. Before joining the Hertie School, she worked on various projects related to cultural diplomacy at the DAAD and German Bundestag, where she organized and coordinated programs like the International Parliamentary Scholarship. She also interned as a legal researcher at the International Narcotics Control Board at the United Nations. Her research interests include external cultural policy, international law, and Chinese and Russian foreign policy and soft power approaches.
