Himanshi is an engineering graduate from India, currently pursuing MPP at the Hertie School. She has diverse professional experience ranging from data science and business analysis, to program management in a national public education initiative by the Government of India. She is passionate about using data and technology to inform responsible strategies and policies that address bring social equity and enhance democracy.
At the Hertie School, she is working with Professor Simon Munzert on her Master Thesis where she explores how does the current Indian government engage in content moderation on Twitter. Through this research, she aims to understand the role of social media communication in a democracy like India, state censorship & surveillance practices and political communication on online platforms like Twitter and Facebook.
