Thiago Bessimo is a PhD candidate at the Hertie School. His research under the supervision of Prof. Shubha Kamala Prasad focuses on the role of foreign policy elites in middle powers in a context of great power competition. Thiago holds a Master's degree in China Studies from Peking University as a Yenching Scholar, an MSc in Administration from FGV and a Bachelor's in International Relations from La Salle University. He has experience working as an analyst at Bytedance and is the co-founder of Observa China 观中国.
