Aneeque Javaid is a Researcher at Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC), Berlin and a guest Research scholar at International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Vienna. His research focuses on topics on sustainability along several different dimensions. This includes topics about environmental sustainability, such as sustainable water & land management, the design and impact of climate change mitigation policies, especially related to urban emissions, and the potential of demand-side measures such as circular economics, and lifestyle changes in achieving sustainability goals. In addition to his research, Aneeque have advised and consulted policy-makers at different levels of government on projects related to sustainability, climate change mitigation and Women's empowerment. Aneeque completed his doctoral dissertation from Jacobs University, Bremen in 2016 on sustainable fishing in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
