Jamie Gartland holds the position of Communications Associate at the Hertie School's Centre for Fundamental Rights, where he focuses on the project "AFAR: Algorithmic Fairness for Asylum Seekers and Refugees". He holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from Dublin City University and a Master's degree in Cultural Theory and History from Humboldt University Berlin. He has a professional background in communications, education, culture and event management. Prior to working at the Hertie School, Jamie held positions in several international institutions, including at the Embassy of Ireland, Berlin. He is fluent in English, German and Spanish, and speaks intermediate French.
