Fred Abrahams is Associate Program Director at Human Rights Watch, based in Berlin. He manages HRW’s research training and supervises work by the Crisis and Conflict and Technology divisions. He has authored numerous reports, articles and opinion pieces on human rights and co-authored A Village Destroyed: War Crimes in Kosovo (University of California Press, 2002). His book, Modern Albania: From Dictatorship to Democracy in Europe (NYU Press, 2015), describes the fall of communism and turbulent transition in Albania. Abrahams has a bachelor's degree in German and International Studies from Washington University and a master's in International Affairs from Columbia University.
