Jean-Claude Trichet addresses Hertie School graduates

Graduation of the Master of Public Policy Class of 2012.

Berlin, 25. May 2012 – With the former ECB President Jean-Claude Trichet as commencement speaker the Hertie School in Berlin celebrated the graduation of its Master of Public Policy’s Class of 2012. Trichet gave a talk on Economic Union Governance in the light of the global crisis.

The 85 successful graduates of the MPP come from 32 countries. During their two-year English-language Masters Programme at the Hertie School they have been prepared to take the lead at the intersections of the public, private and civil society sectors. Over 420 guests joined them in the Berliner Konzerthaus at Gendarmenmarkt for their Graduation where they received their degrees from Hertie School Dean, Helmut K. Anheier, and Associate Dean, Henrik Enderlein. “It was a privilege to work with these exceptional students. We look forward to maintaining close ties with them along their career path through our Alumni Relations,” said Anheier.

In addition to the Graduation Ceremony of the current MPP Class the Hertie School hosted a reception in honour of the fifth anniversary of the first MPP Class that graduated from the School, the Class of 2007. Since then the School’s Alumni Network has become 350 strong. Michael Endres, Chairman of the Hertie Foundation’s Board of Trustees and former Chairman of the Hertie School’s Supervisory Board, was the keynote speaker at the reception.
