Claudia Kemfert newly elected to expert advisory committee

Hertie School Professor Claudia Kemfert is to advise the federal government on environmental issues.

Claudia Kemfert, Professor of Energy Economics and Sustainability at the Hertie School, and head of the department for Energy, Transportation, Environment at the German Institute of Economic Research (DIW Berlin), has been newly elected as a member to the expert committee of the German Advisory Council on the Environment (SRU).

The expert committee, comprised solely of professors, serves to advise the German federal government on environmental issues and highlight undesirable developments in environmental policy. Selected by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB), Kemfert and her advisory council members all serve four year appointments.
