The Council of Europe's responses to the decay of the rule of law and human rights protections

This panel discussion was hosted on 7 December 2021 by Hertie School’s Centre for Fundamental Rights in collaboration with the European Convention on Human Rights Law Review, the Danish National Research Foundation's Centre of Excellence for International Courts, and the Law & Society Institute at Humboldt University of Berlin. 

The panel engaged with the Council of Europe’s responses to the decay and collapse of the rule of law and human rights protections. In particular, discussing the Special Issue of the European Convention on Human Rights Law Review on this theme, co-edited by Başak Çalı, Professor of International Law at the Hertie School and Co-director of its Centre for Fundamental rights and Esra Demir-Gürsel, Georg Forster Fellow of Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at the Humboldt University of Berlin, which was published in September 2021 (freely accessible here)
