Lion Hirth comments on the energy crisis in the New York Times

According to the Professor of Energy Policy, we need more investment in renewable energy, not less.

There are several converging factors that have led to the current energy crisis in Europe, but investing in the transition to renewable energy is not one of them, according to Lion Hirth, Professor of Energy Policy. In a feature in the New York Times, Hirth explains that, while some critics blame the move toward renewables – and the corresponding transition away from fossil fuels – for the current crisis, this is “exactly the wrong direction.” Hirth explains that the problem is rather that we have invested too little, and too slowly, in renewables over the last 10 years.
