Henrik Enderlein, Professor of Political Economy at the Hertie School, has been appointed third-party expert for the independent Advisory Council of the German Federal Stability Council. The financial ministers of the German States voted for him unanimously, as well as for former Minister President of Saxony, Georg Milbradt. The new body will be founded officially at the next meeting of the Stability Council on 5 December 2013. Together with other experts, Enderlein will support the Stability Council with economic analyses and expert opinions for the next five years.
Helmut K. Anheier, Dean of the Hertie School, congratulated Enderlein: “We are very pleased that Professor Enderlein will have the opportunity to support the work of the German Federal Stability Council with his expertise on fiscal policy. As a public policy school, we consider this type of commitment as part of our mission.”
The German Federal Stability Council is a joint body of Federal Government and the German States. It was founded in the course of the “Federalism Reform II“ and is rooted in German constitutional law. Chairmen of the Council are Federal Financial Minister Wolfgang Schäuble and Chairman of the Financial Minister Conference Thomas Schäfer.
