It is important to recognize the challenges we face in the digital sector as we strive for a gender-balanced industry. While there are some areas within digital where we are seeing more women pursue careers, we still have a shortage of women pursuing careers in the digital professions overall. One of the challenges for young women is finding role models to identify themselves with.
So, how can we better support the development of women in digital governance? And what can be done to encourage more women of all ages and experience levels to pursue a career in this field?

Christine Heinrich, Head of Process Management, Requirements Engineering and Software Design, Informationstechnikzentrum Bund (ITZBund).
Carla Hustedt leitet das Projekt „Ethik der Algorithmen“ der Bertelsmann Stiftung. Sie koordinierte die Entwicklung der Algo.Rules, einem Regelkatalog für die ethische Gestaltung algorithmischer Systeme und des KI-Ethiklabels der AI Ethics Impact Group. Carla Hustedt ist Mitglied des Beirats des Centers for Advanced Internet Studies (CAIS), des Hessichen Kompetenzzentrums für verantwortungsbewusste Digitalisierung und beriet die KI-Enquete Kommission des deutschen Bundestages zur Transparenz von KI-Systemen. 2019 war Carla Carla Hustedt Finalistin in der Kategorie „Science“ des Digital Female Leader Awards Carla Hustedt, Director "Centre for Digital Society", Stiftung Mercator GmbH.
