Site visit: Human Rights Watch

Human Rights Watch (HRW) is an international human rights organisation that investigates and reports on abuses occurring worldwide. Their advocacy targets governments, armed groups, and businesses, urging them to amend or enforce laws, policies, and practices. HRW's diverse team includes country experts, lawyers, journalists, and others who work to protect the most at risk - from vulnerable minorities and civilians in wartime, to refugees and children in need.

The visit to the Berlin office of HRW that will take place on 26 April 2024 from 12:30 to 2:00 pm CEST, will provide an opportunity to closely observe the organisation's operations. Participants will engage in enriching discussions with HRW employees specializing in advocacy, communications, and research.

Participation is open to students of the Human Rights and Global Governance stream at the Hertie School, as well as to Hertie School students with a strong human rights interest. Registered participants will receive preparatory reading materials in advance.

The number of participants is limited. Slots will be provided on a first come first served basis. Please note registration is closed
