MPP/MIA Professional Perspectives with the World Bank

A talk by Margret Thalwitz.

Margret Thalwitz holds an MA in Economics from the University Freiburg and a Post Graduate Diploma in Development Economics from the German Development Institute (DIE). Most of her professional career Margret worked for the World Bank as country economist, project and sector manager. She was the first Director of the World Bank's Global Programs and Partnerships department. Since leaving the Bank she has been a consultant to the World Bank, Unicef and the German government as well as Visiting Fellow at Oxford University and the German Development Institute and a Senior Expert Fellow with the Centre for Global Cooperation Research at the University of Essen-Duisburg. She currently spends most of her time with the CGIAR, a group of 15 international agricultural research institutions and focuses on governance and strategy issues.

Margaret will present the World Bank as an employer, talk about her work in general and discuss career development options. Afterwards Hertie School students will have the opportunity for questions and discussion.
