Meet the Centre for Digital Governance

Are you part of the Hertie School community and want to learn more about the Centre for Digital Governance, its mission and research activities? Join us on Campus and meet our team. We look forward to meeting you!

The Centre for Digital Governance is a hub for research, teaching and outreach which explores the implications of digital transformations on governance. Under the direction of Gerhard Hammerschmid, the Centre conducts research on digitalisation and artificial intelligence in government, as well as on the effects of digitalisation in authoritarian regimes, the regulation of platform economies and digital capacities. It combines (1) a public policy/governance perspective on issues such as government-business relations, regulation and ethical implications of digitalisation with (2) a public management/administration perspective with a focus on transforming government (policy, service delivery) through digitalisation.
