Hertie Data Networking Event 2023

Join this live, in-person networking event to learn more about data and innovation opportunities, and have your industry and career questions answered by alumni and experts in the field. 

Hosted by the Career Development and Data Science Lab team. All students, PhD researchers, alumni and external guests are welcome to hear our alumni and industry experts talk about career opportunities at their institutions and companies, enjoy some refreshments and build connections in the data and AI space in this networking event!

For this year, we will have a range of companies at different stages of their development, from start-up looking for co-founders, foundations helping the digitalization process of Berlin, to international organisation providing data and analysis to support migration and refugee policies in governments.

International Organisation for Migration

  • The International Organization for Migration (IOM)’s Global Migration Data Analysis Centre (GMDAC) was set up to respond to calls for better international migration data and analysis. Established in Berlin in  2015 at the invitation of the Government of Germany, the Centre aims to strengthen  the role of data in global migra­tion governance, support IOM Member States’ capacities to col­lect, analyse and use migration data and promote evidence-based policies by compiling, sharing and analysing IOM data, and other sources of data.

  • Polyteia is a data and SaaS company that empowers an effective and accountable government by providing actionable data for decision-making.

Cambrium

  • Cambrium is a biotech venture making sustainable materials for novel applications. They have developed a proprietary protein design language, which allows them to design tailor-made proteins for different applications. Not only do they design and test the proteins but also mass produce them on demand, enabling companies to quickly implement these novel materials into their products.
