EMPA Alumni Day 2023: The future of democracy

The Hertie School would like to invite its Executive MPA Alumni to the annual EMPA Alumni Day at the Hertie School campus on 8 September from 9:30 am – 6:30 pm. This is a great chance to reconnect with your fellow Executive MPA alumni, current students, and faculty members for networking, engaging discussions and some fun too!

If you wish to join us, please register here by 1 September 2023.

The central theme of this year's EMPA Day will be "The future of democracy". In an era defined by rapid change and interconnected global challenges, the future of democracy stands at a critical crossroads. As we delve into the dynamic landscape of societal megatrends, we must confront the pivotal question: What challenges do these trends pose to the very essence of democratic governance? Prof. Andrea Römmele, Dean of Executive Education and Professor of Communication in Politics and Civil Society at the Hertie School, will deliver a thought-provoking keynote exploring diverse scenarios for the future of democracy.

The programme also features an alumni and student panel discussing New Approaches to Political Participation, followed by a lecture from Hertie School faculty.

The main programme for Executive MPA alumni will take place on September 8, but you are also warmly invited to join us on September 7 for an optional programme as part of the introductory course for new Executive MPA students, which includes a Q&A session with current students and alumni, and a reception at the Hertie Terrace at 5:00 pm.

Please register and RSVP for the reception (Sep 7) and dinner (Sep 8) through the registration form by September 1.
