Discussion with Anne-Marie Slaughter – hosted by the Gender Equality and Sexuality (GES) Club

The GES Club proudly welcomes Anne-Marie Slaughter, CEO of New America, for a discussion on the topic of her book, ‘Unfinished Business – Women, Men, Work, Family’, which explores her vision for what true equality between men and women really means and how we can get there. This event is open to the Hertie School community only.

‘Unfinished Business’ stresses that women and men need to work together to achieve equality of opportunities in work and family life. It discusses policy-solutions with regards to the reconciliation of work and care in all socio-economic contexts and contains great advice on how to discuss and approach the topic of career and family in a partnership.

As students and alumni, we’re all at a point in our lives when these topics and the connected challenges are becoming very important. Most of us aim for equal partnerships. But what does that mean in practice, when the first challenges start to appear? What can we as society and individuals do to reconcile work and family care, whether we’re caring for our children or other family members?

We will jointly collect and cluster questions in the first 30 Minutes in order to make the most out of the time available.
