Alumni coffee chat: Women in Data

Meet Hertie School graduates Asha Manoharan and Tori Boeck, who are now working in data.

Join us online for a virtual coffee chat with two Master of Public Policy alumnae currently working in and around data! On Tuesday, 23 February, from 5:00 to 6:00 pm CET (Berlin time), meet Asha Manoharan from India and Tori Boeck from the United States, who both graduated from the Hertie School's MPP programme in 2017.

Asha Manoharan is a Data Analyst at the Global Migration Data Analysis Centre (GMDAC) of the International Organization for Migration (IOM). She currently works on the Migration Data Portal and helps make migration data accessible and easier to understand. Prior to studying at the Hertie School, Asha worked at the Consulate General of India and was delegated to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva and the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) in New York as part of her internships.

Tori Boeck is an Open Data Researcher at the Technologiestiftung Berlin (Technology Foundation Berlin). There she works with the City of Berlin on a variety of data-related topics, including data management and data usage. At the Technologiestiftung, she also helps conceptualise and execute interactive prototypes with a focus on using city data to generate value for Berliners. She is a member of the 2017 Hertie MPP cohort. Prior to joining the Technologiestiftung, she worked on the "DIGIWHIST" project through Hertie School's European Research Centre for Anti-Corruption and Statebuilding (ERCAS), where she worked at the intersection of open data, public procurement, and corruption.
