Careers in data science: Coffee chat with CorrelAid

Meet representatives of this Berlin-based data science network and explore what you can do with an MDS degree!

On Wednesday, 21 July, from 5-6 pm CEST, join us for a virtual coffee chat with Frie Preu, Chief Operating Officer of the data science network CorrelAid e.V. based in Berlin.

Frie is a data4gooder, data scientist and IT person. Right now, she is working full-time for the Data4Good network CorrelAid for which she has been volunteering since its beginnings in 2015. There, she is responsible for the coordination of the skilled-volunteering data science projects which are at the core of CorrelAid’s work. In addition, she organizes educational events and workshops. Frie has a background in social science but transitioned to data science after her bachelor’s degree and worked in IT consulting for two years. She loves to juggle, visualise data in R and automate all kinds of things using her other programming skills.

About CorrelAid

CorrelAid e.V. is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the democratisation of data science. It is an inclusive network of over 1800 data enthusiasts from different professional and academic backgrounds, united by an interest in data science and the belief in its potential for civil society and the public good.

CorrelAid volunteers work in pro-bono “skilled volunteering” projects with various non-profit organisations, associations and initiatives to give them access to data-driven solutions. In addition, they empower civil society actors to explore the world of data science on their own through data literacy workshops and events. You can find some of CorrelAid's completed projects as well as their comprehensive educational offers on their website. To stay up to date, you can subscribe to their monthly newsletter.
