What kind of careers are out there for Hertie School students passionate about data?

On Tuesday, 24 May 2022, from 6:00-7:00 pm CEST, join us for this special event with the Women in Data network, a network that inspires women to explore research and skill building opportunities in data science. 

In this session, Hertie School alumnae Athene Cook (MPP 2017) and Jeen Chun (MPP 2020) will speak about their current work in data science. They will be joined by Pegah Maham and --- from the Women in Data network. An open Q&A and discussion will follow.

About the speakers

  • Athene Cook, Senior Data Analyst - HometoGo

    Athene is a member of the analytics team at HomeToGo, the online marketplace with the world's largest selection of vacation rentals. She supports HomeToGo's marketing team across a broad range of analytical needs, from data modelling and pipeline maintenance to revenue forecasting. Prior to starting at HomeToGo, Athene worked as a performance marketing manager at Wayfair Europe.

  • Pegah Maham, Data Scientist - Stiftung Neue Verantwortung (SNV)

    Pegah Maham has built up the data science unit at Stiftung Neue Verantwortung (SNV) – a tech policy think tank in Berlin. Together with her team, she produces data-driven insights in cooperation with the policy experts of the SNV. Prior to her role at SNV, Pegah worked as a data scientist in the renewable energy industry. She studied Statistics (M.Sc.) at the Humboldt University of Berlin and Data Science (M.Sc.) at the London School of Economics and Political Science. During her studies, she worked as a trainer for argumentation for universities, foundations and companies.

  • Jeen Chun, Data Scientist - Bayer

    Jeen is a data scientist at Bayer, creating various data science models and managing stakeholders. Beforehand, she had a professional year as a Business Development Intern at Cerner, In addition to a year of experience in management consulting. During her studies at Hertie, she focused on data science and gender analysis.
