For prospective students

Open Week: Outside the classroom – meet our student clubs

Learn more about extracurriuclar activities at the Hertie School firsthand.

On Friday, 18 March, from 4:00 to 5:00 pm CET, learn more about student-led initiatives and clubs at the Hertie School, their activities and how you can get involved – or even start your own club!

Meet current students and representatives from the following Hertie School student clubs:

The Hertie School International Development Club organises events which focus on development issues in the Global South. Including workshops, colloquia, and speaker events with subject/regional experts and practioners, the IDC helps provides an alternative voice to Western-centric discourses in development studies, whilst also facilitating networking opportunities for those within the field.

The Governance Post is the primary student magazine of the Hertie School. An independent, digital publication, it serves as a journalistic platform for the Hertie community and the policy sphere at large. The Governance Post aspires to uphold four core values: fostering dialogue, promoting diverse perspectives, communicating with transparency and accountability, and upholding journalistic integrity.

The Hertie School Diplomacy Club offers a student-led forum for Hertians to discuss contemporary challenges to diplomacy with experts and practitioners from the field. As a team, we organize projects and events covering a broad variety of issues in the fields of bi- and multilateral international relations. We are committed to bringing together a broad spectrum of opinions and reflecting Hertie’s diverse and international student-body within our team.

The Hertie School Pride Network is a LGBTQIA+ student-led initiative that promotes the creation of safe spaces for the LGBTQIA+ community. Our goal is to strengthen the sense of safe spaces within our community through education, support wellness, and queer liberation through a cross-cultural understanding of intersectionality and solidarity. The Hertie School Pride Network is a social opportunity for organizing and strength bonds within the broader LGBTQIA+ community.
