Coffee chat with alumni: Fanny Ries (MIA 2017) and current student Linn von Engelbrechten (MPP 2022)

Meet Hertie School graduate Fanny Ries (MIA 2017) and current student Linn von Engelbrechten (MPP 2022).

What's it like studying at the Hertie School? How do the courses prepare you for your career?

Join us online for a virtual coffee chat on Thursday, 17 February, from 5:00 to 6:00pm CET (Berlin time) with Fanny Ries and Linn von Engelbrechten from Germany. Ask about their experience at the Hertie School and how the Master of International Affairs (MIA) and Master of Public Policy (MPP) can prepare you for your career.

Fanny Ries currently works as a Desk Officer at the German Federal Ministry of Defence, Directorate-General for Space Policy. She has extensive international experience, working as a Trainee in the European Parliament and as a Political Officer at NATO in Brussels. In Germany, Fanny worked for the GIZ and supported the Directorate-General Cyber/IT Unit of the Ministry of Defence.

Linn von Engelbrechten is a second-year MPP student focusing on (behavioural) economic policy. Originally from Northern Germany, she did her bachelor’s in Liberal Arts and Sciences in Maastricht with a focus on economics. Next to studying at Hertie, she worked at several public sector consultancies and did her Professional Year at the Federal Ministry for Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS).
