For prospective students

Open Week: Outside the classroom – meet our student clubs

Learn more about extracurriuclar activities at the Hertie School firsthand.

On Tuesday, 7 December, from 4:00 to 5:00 pm CET, learn more about student-led initiatives and clubs at the Hertie School, their activities and how you can get involved – or even start your own club!

Meet current students and representatives from the following Hertie School student clubs:

Cinema Politica is an international non-profit organisation dedicated to using the power of art to engage, inform, and inspire social change. The Berlin chapter of Cinema Politica is run by Hertie School students, who host independent film-screening and subsequent discourse bi-weekly during the academic year. While we create an informal and safe environment for our members, the topics with which we concern ourselves with are global in scope, political in nature, and challenge indifference. Follow Cinema Politica on Facebook (@cine.pol.berlin) or Instagram (@cinemapoliticaberlin) to stay informed and join the conversation.

The Hertie School Hikers – your very own hiking club for Hertie School students, alumni, staff and friends. Our hikes are welcoming to all experience levels! We explore different areas of Berlin on fun monthly hikes. It is a great way to connect with the Hertie Community outside the classroom. We hope to see you there!

The Society of Hertie School for Inclusion, Equity, Liberty and Diversity (SHIELD) aims to educate the Hertie School community on the importance of designing policy with marginalised groups in mind and hosts events on these topics. Additionally, SHIELD works within the community to create policy recommendations that push the Hertie School to become a leader in this area.

TheWork, Economy and Social Policy Club (WESP) was founded to give a format for students to discuss and deepen understanding of themes at the intersection of our focus areas. We hold events to bring speakers (both online and in-person) who can share their expertise on topics so that Hertie students can directly apply this to their own work. Join our lively WhatsApp group with no strings attached – enjoy the informal knowledge sharing and debate!

To attend, please register in advance. If you cannot access the form on the right-hand side, please register via this link.
