Meet our Student Ambassadors (and find out what it’s really like to be a Hertie student!)

Do you ever wonder what it’s really like to be a Hertie student? What the classroom experience is, if there’s a sense of community on campus, what it’s like to live and study in Berlin? There is no one better to ask than a Hertie School student ambassador!

Our 12 student ambassadors represent five countries, all three of our master’s programmes, both first- and second-year students, and a variety of reasons why they’ve chosen to study at the Hertie School.

When it comes to deciding on a graduate school, it is important that you choose a school that is best for you and is a place where you can thrive. While our admissions team is always here to talk you through all the ins and outs of our programmes and the application process, we believe that the student experience as told by students themselves is equally as important and can help you to make an informed decision. That’s why we’ve built the student ambassador programme – to help give you an inside look into the Hertie School experience.

The information below will help you to understand the ways in which you can connect with our student ambassadors during your grad-school search.

Where can you meet student ambassadors?

Our student ambassadors frequently attend our admissions events to ensure the student perspective is accounted for and to help answer your questions. from their honest experience. If you come to the Hertie School in-person, for a campus tour, for example, you will meet a student ambassador during your tour. If you live further away, not to worry! Student ambassadors are also present at our online events, like admissions office hours and webinars.  Our team of ambassadors is also available to chat with you via Goin’ and will respond to your messages within 24 hours (excluding weekends).

What can you ask a student ambassador?

  • Why did you choose the Hertie school? What are you research interests?
  • What’s it like living in Berlin?
  • What clubs and activities are available to me as a Hertie student?
  • What was your favorite course so far? Least favorite?

Ready to get started chatting with one of our ambassadors? Register for an upcoming event or create an account on Goin’. They can’t wait to meet you.
