Apply today for the Scholarship for Public Servants in Brazil

Hello Brazil! For the Executive MPA programme, we’re accepting applications for the Scholarship for Public Servants in Brazil until 15 July.

This scholarship covers at least 50% of tuition fees for the Hertie School’s Executive MPA programme and is funded by República.org, a Brazilian foundation dedicated to improving people management in the Brazilian civil service.

In September 2019, we welcomed nine public servants to our graduate programmes as recipients of the Scholarship for Public Servants in Brazil. One of them is civil engineer Gabriela Andrade, who worked for the People Management Secretariat of the Brazilian Federal Government in Brasilia before joining the Executive Master of Public Administration last fall. Having overseen the distribution of 600,000 Brazilian civil servants, Gabriela considers herself an agent for change and is particularly interested in how new technologies and digitalisation can transform public administration.

“Digitalisation is expected to help face the issue of enhancing organisational capacity in the public sector,” Gabriela said in a recent article about her background and her experiences at the Hertie School. “That is one of the reasons I was interested in the Executive MPA, and more specifically in one of its three different concentrations – which is digitalisation and big data.”

Executive MPA programme participants can specialise in one of three areas of concentration: Leading innovation and managing change, digitalisation and big data, and global governance frontiers.
