Anaël Labigne wins ISTR Emerging Scholar Dissertation Award

Hertie School Alumnus Anaël Labigne receives award presented by the International Society for Third Sector Research.

Anaël Labigne, has received the “Emerging Scholar Dissertation Award”, presented by the International Society for Third Sector Research (ISTR) for his dissertation “Varieties of civility? A sociological analysis of voluntary associations and opinion clusters in France, Germany and the USA”.“

The ISTR Award was established in 2006 by an anonymous donor and is presented once every two years at the biennial ISTR conference to the author of the best dissertation in the field of comparative study of civil society organizations, nonprofit organizations, philanthropy, and voluntarism and related issues. 

Anaël has received his PhD in 2014 as a student in the Berlin Graduate School for Transnational Studies (BTS) at the Hertie School with supervisor Helmut K. Anheier.
