Meet Executive MPA alumni and learn more about their time at the Hertie School and their career paths!

Join us on Tuesday, 21 May, from 5:00 - 6:00 pm (CEST) for a virtual panel where you can hear firsthand about the Executive MPA programme from our graduates. Led by Prof. Dr. Gerhard Hammerschmid, Professor of Public and Financial Management and Academic Director of the Executive MPA, this session offers insights into the programme's benefits, application process, and scholarship opportunities.

Meet our Executive MPA alumni

  • Toni Kaatz-Dubberke works as a Seconded National Expert to the EU Commission’s Directorate General International Partnerships (DG INTPA). At the Hertie School, he completed the Executive Master of Public Administration programme with a concentration in governance and management in 2019. He has been working in development cooperation in Asia, Africa and Germany for more than 12 years, on urban development, good governance and digital transformation.

    Following his EMPA at Hertie School, he managed a large-scale public-private partnership between GIZ and Orange in Africa and the Middle East. He currently supports the EU Commission on topics of the digital economy in partner countries in the Global South. Besides, Toni has researched and published on artificial intelligence and convenes a project course at Hertie on “Digital Development Cooperation” as an external lecturer.

  • Jennifer Keese is an accomplished management consultant and project implementation expert with extensive experience in organizational development. She currently serves as a Manager at KPMG Deutschland, where she has been since April 2023. Previously, she held roles at Orphoz (a McKinsey & Company subsidiary) and the Bundesagentur für Arbeit, among others. Jennifer holds an Executive Master of Public Administration from the Hertie School and a Diplomkauffrau in Economics from TH Köln.

  • Benedict Janich is head of the steering group responsible for the transformation of German Railway (DB) in the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV). Before that, he was responsible for crisis management and unit head for international relations and foreign trade in the BMDV. From 2014 to 2018 he was personal assistant to the State Secretary for Freight Transport and Logistics and the Digital Minister in the Federal Chancellery. Bendict Janich holds a degree in business administration from the University of the Bundeswehr in Munich and the Hertie School EMPA. Before studying the EMPA he served as a naval officer in the Bundeswehr.
